moLocate location service
The final component of the Overlay Media LBS toolset is the live service. This is a server side component that uses the calculated beacon centre positions and radius of the beacon to provide a beacon geocoder. This is provided to mobile applicationsin the form of a web API.
The mobile application can retrieve the beacon information (current serving cell, visible WiFi access points, etc.) and pass this to the geocoder. The geocoder looks up the beacons in the reference database and returns the associated position to the application. The geocoder also models cell handover behaviour and provides the ability for mobile applications to upload beacon measurements tagged with GPS positions.
